The master of over-the-top celebrations invited more than 2,000 guests to South Street Seaport's Pier 16, which he turned into"Tommy's Pier," complete with carnival food, rides, and an epic runway show. A ferris wheel, burger stand, vinyl record store, and boxing ring were just some of the attractions.

As more designers embrace the see-now, buy-now runway show, social media has taken on a central role as the way to turn watchers into shoppers at New York fashion week. This week, with more platforms than ever where brands and showgoers can post, the stakes have never been higher in the race for attention on Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.

I'm very pleased that Club Monaco's fall 2016 collection — the first that the retailer has shown on the NYFW schedule — is"see now, buy now," as I plan on scooping up this two-piece tasseled look before I head to Paris for the shows. It's transitional and adorable.

In a Fashion Month with many established brands attempting to revive their houses via designer switch-ups and step-downs (and some labels just opting out of the fray in general), we can't help but look to the new names on the fashion calendar with grand expectations. When we wondered who the next DVF or Ralph Lauren would be, smaller, up-and-coming names came to mind. The same thing happened when someone asked which shows we were most excited for. Fortunately, the new class delivered.

I missed it this year. Does anyone know where I can actually watch it again?
