I think if you were to look at the books all charities in one way or another fund terrorism in some way. You can never be sure what company and what organization is going to do the right thing with funds. There are millions of fake charities set up just to deceive people into thinking they are giving to something good.

World Vision said in a statement that it will investigate the allegations against Halaby. But the Christian charity, which focuses on children, said its operations in Gaza have been audited and that"based on information available to us at this time, we have no reason to believe that the allegations are true.

They should be ordered to pay sanctions right away. Make it high enough so that they go out of business. I am not sure if this is illegal or totally wrong as of yet still investigating but if it is as bad as it sounds something has to be done.

We must wait to see what the information says when it comes out. There is so much going on that we must not jump to judgement. Let the papers out and let us make a decision on whether this was a mistake or something sinister is going on.

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan just gave birth to — the biggest charity in the world.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative — announced Tuesday, along with the birth of the power couple’s baby girl, Max — has already been promised an endowment of $45 billion in Facebook stock, a staggering sum that looks poised to edge out the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as the world’s No. 1 foundation.

Some of the money raised to support injured children in the enclave had been diverted to Hamas families by"fraudulently listing their children as wounded," according to the agency.

He called on World Vision — which has operated in Gaza, Israel and the West Bank since 1975 — to"assume responsibility and set your house in order."

Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip and has fought three wars against Israel since it overran the coastal territory in 2007, is designated a terrorist organization by the United States.

It is telling that most Muslims around the world support Palestinians, and most Jews support Israel. This, of course, is natural — but it’s also problematic. It means that this is not about who’s right or wrong as much as which tribe or nation you are loyal to. It means that Palestinian supporters would be just as ardently pro-Israel if they were born in Israeli or Jewish families, and vice versa. It means that the principles that guide most people’s view of this conflict are largely accidents of birth — that however we intellectualize and analyze the components of the Middle East mess, it remains, at its core, a tribal conflict.

How is it what is happening in Gaza is not up for debate?

It has always bothered me that the two religions that seem to have the strongest devoted following can not find common ground for the greater good. Greater good is what both of them preach this should not be hard to do.

They have not been reporting on this area for a long time in the US. This is a very big story and it is still not being widely reported in the US.

This is why I just help out locally around my home and town. I know where the money is going and I can see the return in my own neighborhood.

That is a good way to help out. Me and my family do soup kitchens and go and sit with the homeless to try and give back a little.

A Shin Bet official cited by The New York Times said there was no evidence that World Vision had been aware of Halabi’s alleged activities. But Tim Costello, the head of World Vision Australia, which is heavily involved in the Gaza project, told the Times the organization was “very worried” about the impact of the allegations. Indeed, the Australian government said Thursday it was suspending funding to the group’s projects in the Palestinian territories.

I think its awful about what continues to happen in Gaza. Why can't people learn to get along for the sake of the greater good?

There are other people with interest in this fight that keep it going. I cannot imagine after all the death and horror they have not made peace by now. The US should really push them to stop fighting.

“World Vision stands by Mohammad who is a widely respected and well-regarded humanitarian, field manager and trusted colleague of over a decade. Around 60 per cent of the funds meant to ease suffering in the Gaza Strip were instead diverted to paying Hamas salaries and readying the group for war with Israel, according to the Shin Bet, the Israeli equivalent of MI5.

They sure do take their time and do things the right way it seems. Israel said that El-Halabi, a Palestinian man from Gaza, was a lifelong member of Hamas and received military training in the early 2000s before Hamas leaders ordered him"to infiltrate” World Vision in 2005.
