Meeting new people and seeing how they live. Experiencing someone else's culture is the most rewarding thing in the world. It makes you realize that the world is such a large place and we all are a small being in that big world. There is so much going on around us all the time that we don't know.

I like meeting new people who are feeling quite relaxed about life. Often other people who are on holiday are at their peak happiness levels (because they don't have work stress, deadlines etc)

Possibly, it's a San-Francisco. Personally me like travelling to absolutely new places for the feeling of a place that you are totally unfamiliar with. This brings all my senses to a good tone.

Thanks Dmitriy, that was my guess but I wasn't sure. I don't think I've ever been to San Fran.

I sometimes get a bit daunted when the language and culture is totally foreign, since I'm always scared of getting ripped off! Maybe I'm too cynical.... I like being with a local who I trust in new places

whether that's the most beautiful thing in travelling I'm not sure, but that first 24 hours off the plane where you're just drowning in the unfamiliar is truly something to behold.

On the other hand, I also like the feelings when I return to a place when I have already been but with new friends or family members who are there for the first time. So I'm feeling like a local guide to them, this feeling is also great.
