Here are some things vegans don't tell you:
1. The bloated belly.
2. Calories are still calories.
3. It's easier than you think.
4. People will judge.
5. The time.

What do you think of vegans? What would you add to the list? Is going vegan an option for you? Are you a vegan and what it done for you?

You can still treat yourself even if you go vegan. A lot of what puts people off pursuing veganism as a lifestyle is the idea of restriction. But this is misleading: whilst there are some food items that vegans choose not to eat, the restriction idea seems to skip on all the items that vegans do eat. And trust me, there’s plenty of those. Start listing fruit and veggies and you’ll realize you’re making all kinds of headway.

Since becoming vegan, my body has found its true mojo. My recovery has been better, my strength is greater, I’m leaner, my digestion has improved, my skin is better, my hair is strong and shiny.

That's true. People think being vegan gives you a limited selection even in restaurants.

After turning vegan, I could get all the protein I needed and more. And this didn't mean supplementing with vegan protein powders, either. There's an abundance of healthy plant-based protein sources out there, you just have to know where to find them.

To a lot of people, the idea of a vegan diet is daunting, and it’s hard to imagine life without certain foods. The thing is, the vegan market is growing – nowadays, you can get all the treat foods you desire without all the issues that come with non-vegan products.

A lot of people aren't informed very much that's why they find the vegan lifestyle intimidating.

The first 12 months of going vegan are the most challenging and not necessarily because you can't eat meat. I was vegetarian for a year previously, so giving up meat wasn't an issue, but I was really missing one thing: cheese.

I’ve been vegetarian since October 2014, a bit on and off the first year, but I suppose nobody’s perfect and recently I’ve been looking into veganism a lot and I’m trying to get educated :)

The worst thing about being vegan, for me is when I had to give up being vegan. One year ago I had a very traumatic surgery and recovery, and then low thyroid problems, hormonal unbalance... my whole body changed.

We can't get people to understand our vegan lifestyle if we become militant, pushy vegans. That just drives people away. Remember that if you weren't born and raised a vegan, judging others for eating animals is hypocritical. Societal conditioning has brainwashed the masses.

What amazes me since going vegan is how disgusted I am by meat. The thought of how an animal had to suffer leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

There're so many things you can't control in your life, but you can control what's on your plate. YES.

The bloating can be controlled. Look up food combining. Certain foods really do not pair well together. For example, protein and starch should never be eaten together. Protein requires an initial acid digestive process where starches require a base (alkaline) digestive process. The two together neutralize each others digestive process.
