I do not own a gun personally but believe any American that wants one should have one. I hate the way this country treats ex-cons also. Just because you commit a crime you should not lose all of your rights. Just because I made a bad judgement once in life I cannot protect myself? They really need to look at those rules again.

Firm believer in the second amendment. America was built with militias and the people taking up arms and defending themselves. I do agree there has to be a degree of checks going for mentally ill people and other factors but for the most part everyone should have access to a firearm.

If we are going to protect any amendment this would be the one. Once they have all the guns we will be going to camps people. Don't give them up unless you want to be a slave again.

The way things are going the government will eventually get all the guns. The population is so scarred right now from all the violence shoved down their face that they will give them away for peace. We can protect ourselves, the sooner we learn that the better we will be as a nation.

Legislatures are in a far better position than judges to assess the wisdom of such rules and to evaluate the costs and benefits that rule changes can be expected to produce. It is those legislators, rather than federal judges, who should make the decisions that will determine what kinds of firearms should be available to private citizens, and when and how they may be used.

There is a real misconception in this country of what an assault rifle is and also what a fully automatic weapon. The government seems to playing on the public's ignorance of guns to push an agenda. I know of thousands of people who think AR15 stands for assault rifle.

AR-15-platform rifles are among the most popular firearms being sold. They are today's modern sporting rifle. The AR in"AR-15" rifle stands for ArmaLite rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s."AR" does NOT stand for"assault rifle" or"automatic rifle."

Sadly to say this is slowly fading away. It will be sad day in America soon when no one has guns. May not be in 5-10 years but it will happen.

I go hunting twice sometimes three times a week. No one is going to take my guns from me. I do understand they are for protection and I use mine for that also. I do not have any assault rifles but if I did they would not get those either.

The right to keep and bear arms is protected in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Each time something bad happens they get closer and closer to taking away our guns. I am not sure how this last shooting is going to help the cause though. The cops must have guns and they didn't help. I think they need bigger guns.

We need to working our way toward peace not giving the cops more and more military equipment. No kind of weapon can protect or prepare them for what happened in Dallas. We must continue to preach togetherness and let people know there is no place for violence against innocents.

We the people would have to stop them. I agree that people do not need these high powered rifles. We can come together and keep our guns and give up the assault rifles. I think that is fair.

Armed, trained Americans are an essential component of our country’s freedom. The people have a right to keep and bear arms and that right shall not be infringed.

The NRA will make sure we keep the guns around. I think they have enough money and lobbying power to make sure they never take away our guns completely.

The NRA has yet to make an official statement on the shooting of Philando Castile. Castile, a 32-year-old from Minnesota, was shot and killed by police on Wednesday while he was reportedly reaching for his wallet during a traffic stop. According to his girlfriend, who filmed the aftermath of the shooting, Castile had a legal, concealed carry weapon and informed police of it. Verification on Castile’s permit is not publicly available due to Minnesota gun permit confidentiality laws.

This should be the number one topic on Americans minds. They are causing chaos to try and take your guns away. Throughout history this same tactic has been done to many countries. We are not simple minded people anymore. Please see through what they are doing to us. Do not conform to not give up your weapons. If anything go out shooting become more proficient.
