To find this reason or purpose, experts recommend starting with four questions:
1. What do you love?
2. What are you good at?
3. What does the world need from you?
4. What can you get paid for

What is your reason for waking up in the morning? What makes life meaningful for you?

Life is better when you know your purpose in life. I want to be a good dad to my kids so I work hard to make sure I give them a comfortable life.

The questions to ikigai make sense. Getting paid for what I love is a bit challenging. I love being with my kids the most, but that won't get me paid. Can 'good kids for the future' be the answer to 'what the world needs from me'?

Doing what I'm good at and getting paid for it, those two I can have a single answer for. What the world needs from me and what I love would go together. How to fuse the four together is the question....

The Japanese have been known to live long lives. Life is about doing the things you love and being happy. I love my job and it doesn't feel like work. I've been here for 3 years and I'm really having fun.

My family is my reason for getting up and going to work. I want to give them a comfortable life. I want them to have the things they want.

Leave it to the Japanese to know everything!!! Haha Anyway, I wouldn't take too much stock on this since the Japanese are also the ones who invented harakiri (did I spell it right?!) Haha anyway, the Japanese are all about doing the right thing 100% of the time and sometimes, there are gray area so does that mean my life loses its meaning?

Japanese diet is relatively healthy as well. I love Japanese food. If I could eat it every day, I'd be so happy. Too bad sashimi is very expensive where I live.
