I bring this to light even though it might not even be seen or get noticed by anyone else. This book is amazing and I'd really love for the movie to be great as well so I do hope that it's not going to flop with a Brit in the lead role.

Maybe the crowd is a true poll. As dishonest as ALL the news is, why would anyone"that is educated", think, ..."but the polls, boy now, they're honest?"

Universal is giving The Girl on the Train a prime release date of October 7, which positions it for a possible Oscar run, if the material plays in that direction. If that’s the studio’s goal, you may see The Girl on the Train playing a few of the key fall film festivals, from Toronto or Telluride to New York… much the way Gone Girl did, on its way to one Oscar nomination. Time will tell.

Based on Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel, The Girl on the Train is 2016’s much anticipated movie . With a cast including Emily Blunt, Justin Theroux and Lisa Kudrow, you know you’re in for a thrilling afternoon.

The big screen adaptation of The Girl on the Train, like Gone Girl before it, arrives with an inbuilt audience, Paula Hawkins' book having sold 11 million copies since it was published early last year.

I read the book. It was excellent. I am hoping the movie is just as good. Gone Girl was a great book that was a great movie. Let's hope this move is up to par.

The Girl on the Train represents a dull thriller that isn't surprising in any sort of way. One way to the other, it removes the book's main core of the heart and keeps whatever causes the movie to have a bit of originality.

Distinguished only by a quite extraordinary musical score by Danny Elfman, working in an entirely uncharacteristic mode, and some adventurous camerawork from DP Charlotte Bruus Christensen, the film is very faithful to the book both structurally and in dramatic incident.
