South Africa was FAR from pleased when insurance giant released a video with predominantly white fathers and kids - and hardly any black fathers. Racial accusations were thrown around by the public... but the question is, are absent black fathers actually just a norm in this country? Was outsurance merely depicting the South African narrative?

They claim It was a junior employee that came up with the concept but that's a shitty excuse because at the end of the day, someone at the top gave it the go ahead meaning they saw no problem with the lack of diversity in it

The race card is a bit played out. Stop

Why make trouble with the video? Do we always need to argue about almost everything?

It's a Father's Day video. Father and kids. What's the deal about race here?

Can't they just appreciate the ad for what it's worth? Do they always have to bring out the race card? This is annoying.

Way to ruin Father's Day with race issues. Stop making it about race all the time.

The ad was overshadowed by race as usual. Don't people ever get tired of using race as an issue for everything?

The video didn't have black fathers. If you want diversity, have all races represented. That would be the right thing.

I don't this is shocking. People are making a big deal out if this again. What matters is you're a good dad to your kids no matter what race you are. You don't need a commercial to validate that.

Race, race, race. People, please let it go. Not everything is about race.Don't people ever get tired of that race drama?!

I don't understand why this is such a big issue. Race is always a bone people pick on and that issue is so used up.

They should have been more sensitive with the ad. They should have known better that race will be an issue. People can't seem to let go of that.

There was no black dad represented and that is discrimination. If they put one or two then it would have been better.

Haven't they learned from their past issues? This is a total disregard for other races. Very insensitive.

Why can't they let it go? It was a Father's Day ad and nobody saw the value of it because of the white dads in the video.

It wasn't shocking. People are making a big deal out of it. I didn't see anything wrong with it.

There was a black dad. Would they have wanted it to be all black dads since they wanted the demographics to be well represented? This is so petty.

People really pay attention to the ad. Aren't they a bit too critical? The video lost its purpose of giving a tribute to dads.

I hope they learn from this and do better on their next ad. There's not much we can do about it now.
