Was that made with a rice cooker? I have seen some sweets made with it that kept a similar curve.

I might go study in Japan but I don't speak any Japanese. The courses would be in English and the school near Tokyo. Do you think it's necessary that I learn some Japanese or can I rely on my English and French?

how is that a pancake, it's way too thick. I always thought pancakes where like.. 3mm thick or something, also I don't get the butter thing but maybe that's just how I grew up.

What's up with just the one tiny square of butter? Either make it uniform all over it or don't even bother

Pancakes are known as `Hotcakes' in Japan. This nation-wide popular sweet and round cake is slightly different from pancakes you find in other countries so it's worth a try during your stay to taste the difference.

Here are more than 10 great Tokyo breakfast brunch spots. Looking for a good spot for Tokyo breakfast or brunch on the weekend? I love breakfast! I am a very earlier riser, so breakfast is my main meal of the day. There are many other breakfast spots, but if I had to wait in line more than 30 mins I skipped. I will add more over time. If you have any recommendation, not listed, please make a comment below.

Every country has their own twist on pancakes: the light French crepe, the fluffy American pancake, the English one with lemon and sugar, or the Korean with spring onions. The Japanese love their pancake; all around the capital city there are many places where you can treat yourself for a delicious pancake, Tokyo style!
