I hate the current format..... There is too much rugby and its getting boring. They should shorten the format and finish up before the internationals start

NZ Rugby Union have the greatest brand in the world, The All Blacks and they cater to South Africa and Australia to have extra teams that struggle. We don't need them, they need us. Our union should pull out and start a simple but exciting competition. But they won't. To much good money in this current complicated congested competition

Why can't we just have a simple round robin? (I know the answer is the demands of South African money, but common sense is frustrated enough to ask the question).

I believe the Chiefs management have elected to add in further international travel by taking a home fixture to Fiji. Too bad New Plymouth, Tauranga & Rotorua I am sure you didn't want to host the Waikato Chiefs anyway.

So not interested. Way to complicated, unfair or whatever. I think Nz and Aus should pull out an start a Super 12. Current 5 teams each and 2 pacific teams. One based in Counties?? One in Brisbane. Each plays 3 home games in the islands. Something like that.

Uninterested, last season was a boor, I think sky may have to suffer in my household, super rugby has been the main thing keeping it in the house. Off to the pub if I want to watch sport

They need to go back to Super 10, have a premier and first division so its strength vs. strength and greater quality of rugby for spectators to view. They should then make Currie Cup more competitive again - I believe this has been the downfall of SA rugby over the past few years!

Way too much rugby, one just has to see the attendance figures at the various stadiums and falling TV viewership numbers as evidence that the new format is failing dismally. The new format is also interrupted by the June internationals which is pretty bizarre to be honest.

Shorten the format, exclude the franchises that are consistently performing poorly and introduce a relegation / promotion scenario whereby the excluded franchises above play in a"second division" league with the winner being promoted and the team finishing last in the Super-Rugby being relegated.

"We think it makes much more sense to have a straight top eight. It makes it a lot easier for the fans. They can almost disregard the complications of the conferences and just look at the log and say 'is my team in the top eight'."

A suggested change from the current three-conference format, splitting it into a two-conference model, had been mooted.
The two conferences would consist of Australia and New Zealand in one, with South Africa and possibly Argentina in the other.
This proposal would accommodate both the Lions' and the Southern Kings' inclusion in the competition

Rennie said that the New Zealand Super Rugby coaches were keen on a 14-game round robin format between the 15 teams where everyone plays everyone and a season that is shortened by two weeks.

The fourth-ranked Brumbies hosted the Highlanders in the first round of the playoffs and Tew said his organisation felt a table based solely on total points would have been simpler.

The format has been around for years and there is not enough interest in changing it outside of the teams who are having issues winning. There will be a new adjustment period and who wants to go through that.

Super Rugby tournament otherwise known as the Super 15 will play Southern Hemisphere players into the ground and will leave nothing left at the end of the season for the Rugby World cup.
