Good news. Women are starting to have more freedom and I hope eventually they can be seen as equals. Their culture is very patriarchal and it would be nice to see these women do a great job and show the men they can be equals.

True. Women should be given chances to show what they can do. It would empower women and give them confidence.

Saudi have strange laws, it is the only country where covering up is required although it's mostly woman's choice to do so except the royal family woman allowed to even be half naked in the streets while religious scholars explain that woman need to be covered up for the rest and legally have to.... in other Muslim countries it's freedom of choice to cover up or not as its like that in Islam.

This is good for women. They are slowly given responsibility in a culture than values men only. Men and women could eventually have equal rights and see to it that they are recognized in society.

It may be a small chore but women has had a victory in this. Their society is slowly opening up to the possibility than women should take an active role in society. They are not just meant to stay home and be housewives.

GCC countries give woman their feedom and have responsibilities in their culture except Saudi Arabia... A lot of men in Saudi don't agree with the laws of the government but there's always a few who have twisted Islam in their own liking

It's great that women get to drive there. They could do so much more if they travel by themselves. Even doing errands would be a lot more convenient.

Driving is one of the basics in life and they should learn. They could go anywhere by themselves and it would be safer than walking or getting a cab.

Finally they're allowing women to do something. It's one step towards independence and it hopefully leads to women being recognized more in their society. Women can do a lot if given a chance.

One point for the women. This is a development because their government is very traditional and allowing them to drive may be a huge step to letting women have a part in their society now.

Getting women to do something that big is a victory. Saudi has always been about the men. If women are slowly given rights then it's a step toward progress. Hopefully their culture opens up more to women.

Women should be allowed to do things for themselves. Giving them a chance could be beneficial to everyone since they will be more independent and confident.
