“Boxers often abstain from sex before a big fight,” Jeffrey Sumber, MA, MTS, LCPC, psychotherapist and bestselling author of Renew Your Wows!, tells Bustle. “It makes sense, right? Keep all that testosterone pent up in there until it is time to unleash the force. However, for some elite athletes, remaining the master of one’s domain is less appealing as a tool for optimal performance. Why? I believe a possibility is the cultural shift that has occurred in the past decade, largely impacted by apps, swipes, and Netflix-chilling. More and more of us see sex as a workout, not a relationship in process. So what better stress release than sex when you have the world watching and a nation depending on you?”

Actually I know a lot of Athlete who abstain from sex before having to perform.
And yes, today sex is seen more as an extra mural activity - great stress release...

You get all those athletes with all that adrenaline in one place you know there is going to be alot of sex going on. Not to mention many athletes don't have sex while they train. Once the event is over they head straight to the room and get it on. lol

This sounds like a place I need to be. I hear they are passing out condoms like candy over there. You already know how Brazil gets down I bet the night life is epic.

"Many of the athletes prefer to meet other athletes on Tinder and other dating apps because that's easier, and then they do group dates with other athlete friends. Many of these women and men have been out of the dating game or never in the dating game before the Olympics, so it's a lot to take in for these athletes, especially after training so hard to be here."

Athletes will be provided with a record 450,000 condoms to last them the 17-day duration of the games, but with reports of blocked toilets, exposed wires and leaking pipes surfacing, it sounds like what should be the Sexiest Place on Earth will actually be, well, straight-up nasty.

There is a problem with your theory. The Zika virus would really complicate Super human baby development.

I imagine every Olympic village is plagued by this issue. My concern continues to be about the Zika virus and its implications. I have yet to hear about transmission of the virus in Brazil since the games began. Did it just disappear when the opening ceremonies started?

I think every major city that has a big event like this will turn into a sex cesspool. Athletes are always charged up and super horny. You get the greatest athletes in the world together and they are bound to start humping each other.

Tara. ...you have just rained on my happiness. I've always been a glass half full type of person so my super babies will grow up strong, happy and blessed with good looks and sponsorship deals. However in the unfortunate situation that any are orphaned by the Zika virus, they will naturally make it into Dr xavier's school for gifted youngsters.......

In about 9 months a record number of Zeka babies will be born stemming from the Olympics. From there the disease will spread around the world and become a world wide pandemic.

Sex, drugs and….the Olympics. Aside from Michael Phelps making it rain with gold medals, there’s other…let’s say…”interesting” news to discuss. The government of Brazil has handed out over 450,000 condoms in Rio. Compare that to Seoul’s measly 8500 condoms in 1988. And the doping debate is more heated than ever. Russia’s Yulia Efimova got to swim for the gold – but lost to American Lilly King — despite being caught for doping twice. We all know about Russia’s rampant, state-sponsored doping ring. And now there’s news that Brazil is cheating (again). Eric Guster joins Fox News host Tamara Holder on “Sports Court” to discuss.
