In her opening address, Kristina Stern SC said Hughes's death"appears to have been inevitable from the point of impact".

I pray the family is finding this a time of remembrance and not tragedy. May he rest in peace.

Such a shame that his life was taken so early. He was just 25. on the bright side, he died as a result of doing what he loved.

No one is to blame, close this rediculous inquest. It's not what Phil would have wanted seeing all his mates go through this. Stop it now..

Seems as though this is a case of the family looking for someone to blame, why would they put themselves and these players through this?. I feel very sorry for these players who are now being bough forward to"explain themselves", and have to relive that awful moment. Seems all very unecessary when it was determined that it was a terrible accident and nothing more. Very sad.

The poor bloke would have been to hell and back in his thought life, he would have battled so hard, he never meant to hurt anyone!
Now he is forced to talk about something that he would rather not talk about. I feel for the bloke

This is NOT RIP. If the family thinks this is what Phil would have wanted then I'm confused. I understand they are angry and grieving but chasing someone to blame is not the answer

The death of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes was likely “inevitable” after he was struck by a ball, an inquest heard Monday as it raised concerns about on-field sledging and short, fast deliveries.

Perhaps the family should now turn this tragedy into something positive. They should request headgear that can prevent this from happening to other players.
