Santa Barbara Island closed to visitors in January after high surf destroyed the landing dock and snapped some of the pier pilings. No reopening date has been scheduled.

I visited this pier many years ago while California dreaming. Its sad that the surf has destroyed the beach.

That is no reason to close an Island. That makes it a bigger tourist spoke. I see why this island is poor they don't know how to capitalize. Nobody cares about pot anymore people wake up.

The 83-square-mile Santa Rosa is one of a string of four islands about 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. In January, Santa Barbara Island was closed to visitors when high surf destroyed the island’s only landing dock. The park service has yet to schedule a reopening date.
