I am sure if you did deep enough you can find plenty of things that should not be on the same day. I do not foresee there being any problems with celebrating their holiday peacefully.

However, some people might want to make something out of the fact that Muslims are celebrating 9/11.

Before any one freaks out we must first find out whether the holy day will actually fall on 9/11. Muslims believe it should take place 10 days after a new moon on the Islamic calendar. That new moon could happen on either Sept. 1 or Sept. 2.

The people who are putting this out do not care about the details you should know that. They want to stir up the people and have everyone acting crazy on Sept 11 once again. Even if it does fall on the same day do you see there being a problem?

Abdul Bhuiyan, secretary-general of the Majlis Ashura, the Islamic Leadership Council of New York, told the Times that the holy day can also serve as an opportunity to honor those killed on Sept. 11, 2001.

What people fail to realize is that Muslims died in the 911 attacks also. There were people of all races in those buildings and it is sad the news would even put something like this out.

Same thoughts I was having. How can a holy day get in the way of remembrance? If anything we should be honored that this day is associated with a holy day.

I am sure the world will survive having two events coincide on the same day. How many times a year does a holiday fall on a celebration day? No big deal.

You have to wonder if some nut will use this to carry out a horrifying act. That is why I have no idea why someone would even try to put something like this out in the open.

Eid al-Adha has never coincided with Sept. 11 since the 9/11 attacks before. And, with ISIS incurring greater losses to U.S. forces of late, it might be a time when the Islamists could choose to strike back

In New York, the possibility of the holiday falling on Sept. 11 has intensified security concerns and fears already reverberating throughout the Muslim community after the killings of an imam and his assistant in Queens this month. For some, it also resurfaces memories of the backlash and the police surveillance directed at Muslims in the years after the attacks.
