This is really the best way to spend maternity leave! Thank god for this woman!

What happens after? They'll be broke

I'd hate to be stuck on a long haul flight with this woman and her potentially screaming baby.

Fortunately, this one was something we had adequately planned for, but I realized just how important it was once we started moving. When traveling with babies, it’s not about just leaving enough time to get through security and make it to the gate on time; it’s about leaving a sufficiently wide buffer so there’s also time to enjoy the experience as part of the adventure.

Esmé, now 2, has been to five continents and has passport stamps from Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, San Marino, South Africa, Cuba, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia, though she still has a long way to go to match her mother's current count of 64 countries.

This lady is crazy. Why is she not bonding with her baby? Traditionally babies are supposed to stay home for the first 2 months as to not catch germs. What an idiot. There are working mothers who would kill for maternity leave just to spend time with their baby and she's on vacation.

Many people think that once they have children, their days of traveling and going on vacations that can’t be reached by car are out of the question, at least until the kids get older. However, one mom from Ireland is dispelling all those fears you may have about traveling with a baby.

This has to be the healthiest way to get over post partum depression. How happy does she look exploring the world with that little bundle of joy. This sounds like a great idea and I wonder if insurance would cover it as treatment? :)

That's pretty cool. This baby has seen more places then most people in a life time.

The overall aim is to inspire like-minded travel loving parents – your travel days do not have to be over,” said Karen. “It is all about incorporating your little person into your way of life. You can still do everything, including snorkelling and diving, but you just take it in turns. I can’t imagine having spent my maternity leave any other way.” The travelling trio is currently in Thailand and going to Cambodia next.

I guess this counts as bonding but it just seems unhealthy for the baby and mom.

If that works for her and her family great. I just know moms fight for enough leave to care for their babies. Some might view her as taking advantage.

That's a interesting concept. I am not sure I would have the balls to do such a thing as this woman. I would probably just want to cuddle my baby.
