Forest Green Rovers is a soccer team like no other. Named by global governing body FIFA as the greenest football club on the planet, they have worked with the United Nations and achieved climate neutral status -- the first club in the world to do so.

The team has gone vegan, uses only solar or wind power, plays on an organic pitch that grows using recycled rainwater, and offers free electric car charging for fans. The team aims to move up through the English football leagues. Its ultimate goal is to take its eco-friendly mission to the next level, and create another world-first by moving to a new purpose-built all-wooden stadium.'

Comment on this club's very green ways. What do you think of this soccer club's goals? Will they be able to meet both their professional soccer goal and eco-friendly mission?

I hope this soccer club's green efforts get recognized by the more popular soccer clubs and other sports so that they can follow suit. It is really a commendable effort for the part of Forest Green Rovers.

Wow this is quite a step to going green. Once their fans know about this, they'll be encouraged to do the same thing. I applaud them for doing this.

The whole team going vegan? Is that even possible? Their chairman must really be inspiring to convince all those men to go vegan.

A soccer field is very huge. Maintaining and using it would require lots of energy. The fact that they recycle rainwater and use solar panels is a big deal. Other soccer fields should do the same because it is possible.

I hope the team wins and gets to move up through the English football league so that they can gain worldwide popularity and use their popularity to inspire the world of their eco-friendly ways.

Free charging stations for electric cars? That is a great freebie for the rich though who can afford electric cars. Maybe the chairman can think of a next initiative towards cheaper electric cars.

Amazing, I love it! And now they're in League 2 and actually play good football.
