Living alone doesn't automatically mean loneliness or an illness. I speak for myself and by choice I tend not to look for company but I do speak to everyone I encounter. I work, I go out, I travel but I choose to live alone and do majority of life's events alone.

It is interesting to see this because it also impacts our access to housing. The more people living alone, the more housing is needed. In the UK, there is a program that matches young people with seniors who have homes.

In the modern world, demonstrating that you can live a life alone has become fashion and so important to people to feel good about themselves - Actually, humans are not made to be alone, like any other animals, we are social beasts. Our genes haven’t changed much for the last 50000 years, only our way of living has evolved rapidly ! So, we remain social animals, whether some people like it or not !

Just look at the people waiting for the bus. There was a time they would be chatting together, not now. Now they are spread out with their heads buried in phones and barely look up.

They should go to Asia. I think Asian are more friendly and connected.

Living alone and feeling alone are two different things. Most people who live alone have active social lives.
