One who has been touched by grace will no longer look on those who stray as “those evil people” or “those poor people who need our help.” Nor must we search for signs of “loveworthiness.” Grace teaches us that God loves because of who God is, not because of who we are.

It seems to me that the gospel message is about 'one beggar telling another where to find bread', or 'where a sick person can find healing'. In other words, there are outsiders, or sinners, or sick people, who need grace (all of us do)' but that grace is available in Christ on the basis of his gift of righteousness.
