You need to keep reapplying to make sure your lips aren't too pale. After eating or drinking, I always reapply lipgloss. I never leave home without it.

I use Chapstick when it's winter. I get really dry lips and I need to use lip balm before my lips bleed. It's out of necessity for me.

I know of people who will die without lipgloss or lip balm. It seems to be an addiction that every few hours, they need to apply it. Applying all that product on your lips isn't good.

I don't there's such a thing as lipgloss addiction. Some people apply lip balm as a ritual and a self-soothing mechanism, just like hand-washing. They just got used to doing it.

I apply lip gloss regularly but I don't think I'm addicted to it. There are long intervals before I reapply because piling all that product isn't healthy.

If you’re always applying lip balm, and always experiencing chapped lips, could the balm be partially causing the problem? That would be awfully convenient for the people who make money selling the stuff.

It's all psychological. Sometimes the ingredients make your lips even drier. Apply once or twice and let the product work by itself.

You don't need to apply it every few minutes. Lip gloss and lip balms can be affective if used the right way.

Some women need their lipgloss every few hours. It's not a necessity. They just need to feel good about themselves with all the makeup.

I don't use lipgloss or makeup a lot so I don't they're addictive. People feel better when they know they have reapplied again and again I guess.

It has its purpose but I don't apply it as often as I should. I get so busy that I forget.

Nope. It's just a habit that people reapply every time. It's more of your security blanket so to speak.

Some people can't live without it but addiction is ingesting a substance and lip gloss doesn't count as that.

It's not mine for sure. I can go out of the house with no makeup or lipstick. Women who always want to look good would probably die without reapplying after an hour or so.

It's probably just a habit that people keep putting lip gloss on. I don't see it as big deal.

I agree. They just got used to putting the stuff frequently. Nothing serious about it.

I use Chapstick quite often. I have dry lips because of the weather. I can live without it though.

If you're obsessed with how you look, you always want to be picture perfect. It's a psychological thing. The need to look perfect is probably the one that pushes you to keep reapplying gloss or makeup.

Probably not. If you're not that vain, it wouldn't matter. Apply in the morning then you're off. I don't see why you need to keep putting more on. It looks greasy.

Some women seem addicted to it. They need to pile the stuff on after drinking or eating.
