The conditions for the animals that are kept in captivity has definitely improved, for the most part, over the past 30 years. Which is great, but that doesn't solve the greater crime, which is keeping animals in captivity in the first place. To take animals out of their natural habitat and put them in cages for human entertainment is sick and wrong. I don't care how big their cage is, it is a cage nonetheless.

I agree. A lot of Zoos still keep their animals in terrible conditions, and it is unjust to ignore these cases due to the other Zoos that have gone above and beyond to make the conditions, and treatment of the animals better. The crux of the matter is that these animals are still kept in captivity, and paraded around for human entertainment. I am not the biggest animal warrior, but this concept should trouble anyone who has a shred of morality in them.

People always argue in favor of Zoos for their conversation work, when in reality, that is completely false. Less than 1% of zoo species are part of any serious conservation work whatsoever. So these claims are simply myths, nothing more.

We should really start shutting them down: as well as circuses and so forth. Our entertainment is not good enough of a reason to be so inhumane and keep animals in captivity.

I cannot agree more.

The animals need to be in their environment too.

I think it is time to let the animals in the zoo to be put back in their own habitat, since we already have the ability to educate kids using only our technology. They need to go home too.

Ban the zoos, I agree.

I have a lot of good memories in Zoos. But, I agree that we should free the animals that are in captivity. They will live longer if they are in the wild and not behind bars.

That's true. Even I have fond memories going to the Zoo with my parents when I was little.

Yes. The conservation argument just don't wash with me too many bad zoos I'd also ban aquariums

Animals deserve to be in the wild. Zoos don't take good care of them so might as well set them free.

Zoos can't provide the care for these animals. They're old and sickly. It's better to just set them free to live their life.

Zoos have always been part of our childhood. I wish zoos would take care of these animals better. The best way to learn is to see these animals in actual.

I don't think banning zoos would solve the problem. There are other animals in captivity and zoos is just one of them.

They should be banned if they can't take care of the animals. They look so thin and haggard, That's animal cruelty.

Keeping animals in zoos is cruel. They don't take care of the animals. The animals look so miserable.

I wouldn't want them banned. My kids love zoos. Seeing animals is always a treat for them.

These animals deserve to be freed. They may be rescued animals and kept in zoos but they need to live in the wild.

Everything is on the internet. We don't need zoos and the animals who are in captivity there. They should be returned in their natural habitats.
