If I get to choose to be born in Australia or America I'll choose Australia

Australia is better because the crime rate is much lower that the United States. The crime rate is so low that police officers do not even carry guns with them. They only carry batons. A killing with a gun would be on television for days. That is how safe Australia is.

In the wake of Donald Trump’s surprise election victory the former Australian Prime Minister, Paul Keating, made a bold claim. “Ours is a better society than the United States” he told ABC TV.

Hmmm... I certainly don't think Australia has as much of a clean slate as claimed by Paul Keating. Look at their treatment of the indigenous communities, and asylum seekers...

Great comments! I grew up in the US but have been abroad for 6 years. I can now see how screwed up and divided the society is there. So many people have damaging addictions and live in their bubble full of fear. I have never been to Australia but have befriended many Aussie's on the travel trail. From what I've learned from them I have to agree with Keating.

I Trust Australia Is Better It depends on what qualities one trusts improves a nation. Australia is all the more simply, more free, more wonderful, all the more cordial, and by and large a decent place.
