The more kids are relaxed the better they learn. Also recess can be turned into a learning tool. Allowing kids to act our things they may have learned in class. I think they should also look into allowing kids to attend school outside. Your mind is much better in the nice fresh air and Sun.

Once again I was born at the wrong time. I remember crying asking for longer time at recess and not one teacher would budge on the issues. Goes to also show I was ahead of my time. :)

Recess was viewed as a reward when I was in grade school. If we behaved we had the privilege to go out and play. Increasing play time should have a positive impact in my opinion.

Great for them. More play time and they are producing better. Go with the numbers I always say.

The students have spoken. Give them more play time and they will give you better test scores. In any school system this is a win win for both sides.

What was your favorite subject in elementary school? If you’re like many people, your honest answer might be ‘recess.’ Do you remember the feeling of release when you got out of the classroom and onto the playground? Who says recess only has to be for kids! There are health and productivity benefits to bringing back recess for adults in the workplace.

I think more and more jobs should really look into allowing employees to work outside. My job has games and toys that we can play with on breaks and things but the biggest part to recess I feel directly relates to leaving the building. What do you think can you have recess indoors?

I think there would need to be occasions where some students who are not benefiting from all the extra play time get more time for tutoring. Everything is not going to work for everyone.

Having an unstructured break during the day has been proven to increase children’s attention span and productivity. This, in turn, can improve a child’s success with academics. Because of this, numerous children are often more attentive in their classes that are scheduled after recess.

I have seen so many kids who don't like school and don't want to go. An extra recess break here and there would change that tremendously.

Have any of you seen this implemented at your kid's school? I would love to know how they are responding to the change.
