If anyone hasn't seen this movie I would suggest not to, I didn't know this when I watched back in the years, and the sex scene kind of in a way make the movie famous, but who would know that this is a real planned rape on scene? Poor girl I would say..... so don't watch it to support the rape of the director and the actor, and this should go to justice!

ROME — Reacting to outrage over reports he and Marlon Brando conspired against actress Maria Schneider while filming a notorious rape scene in “Last Tango in Paris,” Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci said Monday that the outcry was based on a “ridiculous misunderstanding” of what actually happened.

Bertolucci should be arrested and charged for that. Scum bag. And for him to justify the deception in the name of art. He's an elitist punk POS.

There is a BIG difference from a no -consensual rape scene and nudity. ..smh

He said he wanted her to"feel" not"act" the humiliation of the rape. WTF. That's sick. He wanted to take away her choices to communicate through a character, (and thus her identity as an artist- and the boundary lines that provides), in lieu of seeing her personally degraded - to get some vicarious jollies. And he says he doesn't regret it. That's the sign of a disturbed mind, with no respect for women. Imagine a director telling another actor to actually beat someone to get a"genuine reaction" out of them. They'd be sued and it would be clearly wrong.

Last Tango in Paris” director Bernardo Bertolucci confessed that he and Marlon Brando conspired against actress Maria Schneider during a rape scene in which the actor used a stick of butter as lubricant to simulate sex. The director addressed the non-consensual rape scene in a recently resurfaced interview from 2013.

That notorious rape scene in 1972’s Last Tango in Paris wasn’t real, but it wasn’t consensual, either — and Hollywood is reacting with belated outrage.
