I have tried Reiki. it's hard to say if it"works" but I definitely found some benefits. Also I think the more sessions you have means more healing.

I went through a very difficult period of my life a few years ago and ended up going to see a lady who does hypnotherapy, reiki, reflexology, holistic counselling, etc. She is a wonderful person and has helped to completely turned my life around.

Is this widely practiced in the US? Seems like one of those ancient science that is used in the East. I would assume it would take half your life to become very good at this.

To make sure that you have the best possible experience, take the time to find and choose a practitioner (professional or friend) with whom you feel comfortable and who meets your standards. (While a friend may not have the same level of experience as a professional, if you are comfortable and open with each other, receiving Reiki from a friend can be a special bonding experience.)

You don’t have to believe in reiki for it to help you feel better. I’d definitely recommend trying it for chronic pain or a lingering injury.

Do not expect a diagnosis, as that is not part of Reiki. Some practitioners may make common sense suggestions for after-care, such as drinking water and following your body's needs.

No special background or credentials are needed to receive reiki training. To become a practitioner, one must receive an"initiation" or"attunement" from a Reiki Master. This ceremony makes one"attuned" to the"universal life energy" and enables one to serve as a conduit for it.

I am not sure if it was the smell of the prosperity candles burning or the sound of the wind chimes and her bracelets jingling in unison, but it was immediately apparent that there was something special about this woman. Honestly, I was scared to think anything too loudly for fear that she was reading my mind.
