A royal baby announcement is certainly headline-worthy, but when Kensington Palace announced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child, many headlines focused on the least shocking aspect of the story: the Duchess' age.

At 37 years old Markle would not be out of place in any British maternity ward, where more than half of all babies are born to mothers in their 30s and up. And yet many news outlets have focused on Makle's so-called"geriatric pregnancy"—a label once often used by doctors to describe pregnancies in women over the age of 35.

Is it really matter of career or finance? Do you know how hard it is sometimes to find a good guy to be a father or how many people have problems with their fertility?

Had our daughter just two months before turning 44. Miracle baby thanks to modern day science. Very very thankful.

Pregnant at 30 and had him after my birthday. Is giving birth in your 30s really so unexpected given how hard it is for both partners to make it in this economic and societal climate?

24 the year we miscarried. I was 16 weeks with our rainbow when I turned 27. Best birthday gift ever to her dad, found out the day before his 27th birthday. Not sure I'll ever be able to top that one ❤

19, 21, 25 & our surprise very unexpected totally loved baby at 36. It's very different 4th time round. A whole lot more health issues during pregnancy, recovery was a lot longer and all round just tougher but I'm much more relaxed and loving every moment ... and I now know to enjoy each moment because they grow so quickly!

I didn’t meet anyone I actually wanted to have a baby with till my late 30s, and I was 43 when I had my daughter 😂 I was lucky enough to be able to conceive without IVF and had a fantastic pregnancy, and a healthy bub, and I felt so ready and relaxed and that it was the right thing to do. I don’t think it matters what age you have a baby, as long as it feels right for both parents.

I was 37. I was told i couldn't get pregnant and had pretty much given up on becoming a mother. We started discussing fostering to adopt or adoption and i got pregnant! I wasn't ready when i was younger. I got everything out of my system and am loving this new chapter of my life, with the son i wanted for so long and FINALLY got.
