Cancer is currently detected though one of three methods: medical procedures, imaging, or screening for protein biomarkers.By collecting a patient’s blood and extracting and sequencing the DNA, we can generate data that can be analyzed for cancer’s presence and makeup. They’re typically looking for fewer than one cancerous DNA fragment in 1,000. They found a 4-month headstart to detecting cancer.

Do you think this is a great way to lessen deaths caused by cancer? Is early prevention the secret to getting past the disease?

So many people will benefit from this. The sooner cancer is detected, the better chances you have of surviving it.

This will definitely be very helpful to the medical industry. I think everyone in my family who I know died of cancer. It would really be good to know earlier and have the possibility of getting treated earlier. Hopefully, they come to a concrete conclusion soon.

If you get your blood checked regularly then that's a good way of knowing if something is wrong. I hope this doesn't cost too much though.

This is amazing if it's proven to be 100% accurate! It would make cancer 100% curable since it's detected early.

Great news that we are on our way to detecting cancer earlier. On the other hand, people should also be more proactive in preventing cancer by adapting a healthy lifestyle. I read an article saying that eating good, exercising and avoiding alcohol can help prevent cancer.

4 months gives cancer patients more time to think of how to battle the disease. That's quite a head start. Every second counts for people who are sick with cancer.
