The Chinese state is setting up a vast ranking system system that will monitor the behavior of its enormous population, and rank them all based on their"social credit."

The"social credit system," first announced in 2014, aims to reinforce the idea that"keeping trust is glorious and breaking trust is disgraceful," according to a government document.

The program is due to be fully operational nationwide by 2020, but is being piloted for millions of people across the country already. The scheme will be mandatory.https://www.businessinsider.com/china-social-credit-system-punishments-and-rewards-explained-2018-4

Personally, this would really make me feel uneasy knowing that I am being watched all the time. There will be no privacy anymore.

We have the same program based on money. The more you have, the more privileges you get. Including government access, more obsequious behavior from other people, etc. Maybe basing it on social behavior and how we interact with others will be an improvement.

As weird as it sounds, you have a point in there!

Not really. Basically the next step is to ban money and have contactless payments. Then China et al takes away your money to the party line and be a good little citizen or else you live in a box.

what's new? Americans live on the streets for not being good little citizens and amassing money, while the means to do so are systematically removed from them. You need to pay attention also.

We don’t tho. At the end of the day you can be poor in America and still travel, you can be poor and still save up to buy whatever you want with no exceptions, obviously not guns and anything of that sort. In China your social credit determines if you can travel, get on public transportation, get a good job, and even your future . You’re comparing apples to oranges. We are still free in America, in China they aren’t.

This is an absolute terrifying idea. Goes against all rules and meaning of freedom. We are made to find what’s good for us and what’s not, we need to do mistakes to understand and educate the next generations
