The outspoken Irishman appeared at an event to help promote his coach John Kavanagh's new book"Win or Learn" and while he was there he spoke at length about his upcoming rematch with Diaz.
McGregor has said time and time again that he was beating Diaz handily through the first eight minutes of their fight before he got caught with a stiff punch, his conditioning failed him and disaster was waiting just around the corner.

They were booked again as the headliner for UFC 200. However, the fight was pulled from the card in April after McGregor refused to fly to Las Vegas from Iceland for promotional work. The UFC hoped to book Diaz against another opponent for UFC 200, however, Diaz made it clear that he was only interested in fighting McGregor.

It's part of the reason why McGregor hasn't addressed his future after UFC 202 is over because he's solely focused on beating Diaz and can't concern himself with much else."I haven’t really spoke about it to anyone about what’s next. Who knows what’s next?," McGregor said when speaking on the UFC 202 media conference call.

Despite being holed up, McGregor has stayed active on social media, keeping fans up to date on his daily preparations. More importantly, he too has tapped into fanbases that stretch beyond MMA. Last week, on the heels of some less-than-flattering comments he made on pro wrestlers, McGregor doubled-down with a fiery follow-up, inciting responses from several WWE superstars with Twitter followings totaling 14 million.

Looking back now, McGregor wonders if he would have just stayed on the feet with Diaz if he could have given himself a moment to recover before firing back to finish the fight.

I was disappointed to see McGregor lose. From what I can tell he was a favorite to win. Either way the loss just amps up anticipation for a rematch between them.

No. I think in his defeat he showed the world his limitations as a fighter. Diaz has more skill and ability. He deserved to will.

"I didn't actually bring in any southpaws -- not one," McGregor said."I didn't spar with any southpaws, because the reason we don't really care what the opponent is doing is because they always pull out, every damn time.

The only safe way for McGregor to gain victory is to out-point the cardio machine, using his superior boxing skills and be extremely economical with his output. The Dubliner needs to throw a high enough volume of punches and teeps to wear down the body of Diaz and control the distance – no flashy spinning back kicks or capoeira kicks. For the 27-year-old to beat his Stockton foe he will have to show a level of discipline we haven’t seen from him before.
