Black on black violence has gone down dramatically over the years. Americans should all be required to read the book The New Jim Crow. After slavery the gov herded black people and other minorities into areas where they stopped funding on schools, city repairs and social programs, they brought in drugs during the war on drugs era and then funneled as many people who suffered from these statistics into prison. These type of social climates are not an accident. They are made on purpose. Just because I have more melanin in my skin doesn't make me more inherently violent or prone to drug use but they want you to think it does. Put any human in an environment like the gov created for minorities and see how they end up and what kind of opportunities they have compared with areas where the gov keeps up funding for the neighborhoods.

I think we should call it the black civil rights movement because to call it The Civil Rights movement, signifies that that was the only civil rights movement. And when u say the birth of a new civil rights movement you completely over see that we are all ready in the middle of the LGBT civil rights movement. We shouldn't call a civil rights movement. We should call it the LGBT civil rights movement, the black civil rights moment, ect. All under the umbrella of civil rights movements.

If black lives matter then why are they killing each other off at such staggering rates? The biggest threat to a black male is another black male according to the DOJ. Their statistics showed that a black male is 89 times more likely to be killed by another black male as opposed to being the victim of a white man. So how come black lives don't matter to blacks?

I believe sometimes black persons are treated unfairly in this country but the truth of the matter is most black are killed by other black in gang related violence so...In my opinion that also really needs to be at the front of this movement. And not just the actions of a few cops. So I say to you media outlets if there are black on black violence advocates let's see it besides showing us only blacks protesting white cops. I think think more ppl would take it more seriously.

Over 18 million African Americans babies have been aborted since 1973 when abortion became legal. That's one third of all abortion although African Americans only make up about 13% of the population. Abortion Kills More Black Americans Than the Seven Leading Causes of Death Combined.

Being a black man living in NY city I have had more than my share of illegal stops. One year when I had a dodge charger (don't ask me why) I was constantly pulled over every other day. It was so bad I changed my car and I have not been pulled over nearly as much. I must say this though there has never been a nasty police officer at my window and I was always treated with respect once they got to the car. I have never got a moving violation ticket and some of them have turned out to be friends over the years. I do understand a lot of what they were doing to me was illegal but I want to stress I have never witnessed police brutality personally. Every time they stopped me I was not in the right either.

Former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon and top-tier Republican presidential contender Dr. Ben Carson appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Your World” Wednesday and said Planned Parenthood puts “most of their clinics in black neighborhoods” so they can “control that population.”
“I think people should go back and read about Margaret Sanger, who founded this place—a woman who Hillary Clinton, by the way, says she admires. Look and see what many people in Nazi Germany thought about her,” Dr. Carson said.

The baby boomers who drove the success of the civil rights movement want to get behind Black Lives Matter, but the group’s confrontational and divisive tactics make it difficult. In the 1960s, activists confronted white mobs and police with dignity and decorum, sometimes dressing in church clothes and kneeling in prayer during protests to make a clear distinction between who was evil and who was good.

As the ACLU and other professional cop-haters flood the media with tales of endemic police racism, rank-and-file minority officers, who might be considered ideal commentators on these matters, appear only as intriguing statistics—such as those showing that black state troopers in New Jersey, the alleged cradle of racial profiling, stop the same proportion of black drivers as do their purportedly racist white colleagues.

The culture in general must change. The war on drugs have killed minority communities and left people from those communities in a bad light. Just the sight of a black man is enough to raise the question about the war on drugs and what it has done to negatively paint a race as bad. The biggest thing that bothers me is that no race is subject to do crime more than the other so it makes no sense.

Other critics of the movement, also say All Lives Matter is more inclusive of all races and does not single out a particular race for attention. But in general, supporters say this is a redirection of the conversation. A Washington Post analysis of police-involved shootings shows that more black people are killed, per capita, than white people. It found that black Americans are 2.5 times more likely to be killed by police.

My brother, a fine police officer, refused to arrest a young mother for shoplifting when he found they were cold medicine for her sick child and bought them for her. She did agree not to enter that store again. What most people don't realize is how much of a policeman's shift is consumed by non criminal.

I think for the most part cops are not the smartest people around and I think they harass everyone. I know I have my share of arrests and long nights. I do understand that for minorities the scare is a little more but I don't like the cops either.

That was so nice of him. He seems to one of the few who use their judgement to do the right thing. I know many cops who use the law to harass and bully people all the time. Also her shoplifting is criminal so this was not a non criminal act.

Me and my friends were driving one night and I got pulled over for speeds. Office gave me a warning but asked my friend to step out of back of the care. He did and they advised he is good to. How do they know everything it is crazy.

Multiple white police officers performed an illegal and humiliating cavity search on a black man on the side of the road in South Carolina during an unwarranted traffic stop, according to a video and a bombshell lawsuit.

Given the substantial media attention surrounding the recent killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner by law enforcement, it can be hard to remember that not all police officers are bad. But the opposite proves just as true, however unpleasant the reality: not all police officers are good. In fact,

I was shaking,” recalled his mother, Mysti Medina, 38, who also participated in the rally against police brutality. “I’ve been pulled over and harassed by cops before, but this was very scary.”

Exactly 5.6 miles east of where Donald Trump accepted the Republican Party’s nomination for president of the United States is a place where almost 48 years ago, on July 23, 1968, black nationalists armed with rifles engaged in a bloody shoot-out with police. The police say it was an ambush; the African-American men said the police started it. The mystery of the origin of what is said to be the first prearranged shoot-out between police and heavily armed black men in the United States—labeled by one scholar as “armed, guerilla warfare,”—has never been fully resolved.

The media must paint a different picture. There are hundreds of peaceful rallies that are going on around the nation but they shove the 2-3 bad rallies on our face. There are plenty of police officers helping out with the rallies and they are of all colors. We must also remember all of the protesters are not of one race either. This is a multicultural movement.
