In its essence, consciousness is a subtle energy field of pure potentiality where there is infinite possibility and creativity. Within consciousness, lies an informational field of feedback and awareness that gives us a sense of self. In other words, consciousness gives us the ability to observe, experience and be aware of our existence.

Besides being an informational field, consciousness is also a unified field of function that expresses outward with diversity. This unified field is everywhere and in everything. That is why consciousness is one of the fundamental forces of Creation. Think of it as the intelligent energy that governs everything in the Universe and you won’t be far off. As it is made of subtle energy — the most powerful energy in the Universe — consciousness is extremely powerful. That is why nuclear weapons are so powerful since they utilized the subtle energies within atoms. https://theconsciouslife.com/power-of-consciousness.htm

Nowhere near as powerful as the unconscious mind which is in charge of regulating every automatic processes happening in your body and brain that you take for granted. At best the conscious mind acts as a filter/projector that allows you to inhibit or execute certain intentions projected into it by your unconscious mind. Although cultivating conscious intention can reprogram unconscious processes it is ultimately the unconscious mind that actually runs the show at the end of the day in everything you do whether you realize it not.

I've been meditating for more than 2yrs and last 2 yrs have been very consistent with daily 1hr (30 mins , 2 times a day) Last few months have been very bad. Very depressing and sinking feeling throughout the day when im alone. Few moments with spouse/kids are better, but then i sink again. Can't focus on work or anything else.

Quite powerful in the sense that you can use it to add to your physical capabilities. Our conscious mind can be seen as a focus of our attention and we’re able to learn things this way. Once we have learned something, be it a physical skill or abstract knowledge, we can focus our attention on something else and (hopefully) trust in the physical competence of our bodies to perform adequately.

This answer right here is the power of the conscious mind. I have consciously made the choice to answer that question, and have executed that choice thusly. Another example of the power of the conscious mind is the fact that, I’m assuming, you have consciously taken the decision to ask that question here. Of course, there are countless of examples of the power of the conscious mind around your life and mine, but I’m sure we don’t need to get into that.

Now, while that may not be the answer you were looking for, I’m quite certain we can consider some of the powers of the conscious mind without musing with the metaphysical. Put simply, the power of the conscious mind is the power of conscious action(s).

This is why Pavlovian Conditioning is far more effective than anything that requires conscious willpower and motivation. This is why building good habits are better than trying to force yourself to do things you don’t really want to. In conclusion, the conscious mind pales in comparison to the unconscious mind.

Thoughts create our reality. Imagine if we used 100% percent of our brains. We would not be having this conversation. Look at all of creation that was from the mind of God no it only are the stars etc. in his thoughts but he keep our billions of cells in billions of people in production consistently, along with our heart beat and ever atom to every breath planet and so on these are thoughts of God, his mind created our minds, so if u can imagine his mind and its awesome power, we have just a hint of it. Probably not even 1% of his mind are we even close to using with ours. But still our minds are powerful. Now u know also why the devil wants to infiltrate our minds.

The subconscious is quite powerful but with our conscious mind we’re able to add to the functionality of the subconscious and, conversely, we’re able to learn about our own natural behaviors and cognitive biases which can give us powerful insights about our self.

There is no conscious mind, and no subconscious mind. The subconscious is a very complicated data processor. It’s capable of mixing and matching a bits of long term memory. It’s how it generates new thoughts, decisions, and everything ever imagined.
